XP Leveling Linearised-ish
So, you’ve been playing for a while and got bothered by the fact it takes more and more XP (and time) to level up, the farther you get into the game?
No? Well, I did. And I figured something had to be done about it.
[What and why]
As it is now, the farther you get into the game, the more XP and thus play-time is needed to level up. Sure, you can level up indefinitely, but I bet no one will ever get to level 264 in a playthrough without cheating. Why 264? Because that’s the level at which you can unlock all SPECIAL and vanilla perk levels.
At level 1 you need 200 XP to level up, at 10 you need 875, at level 50, 3875! 100? 7625! 264? 19925! Pffft
Detailed leveling info: HERE
What I did:
XP needed to level up is based on two values. A starting number, and an increment which is added after each new level. I’ve included different options:
Vanilla: 200, +75 per level. A total of 2,636,576 XP to get to level 264. Need almost 20,000 to go from 263 to 264.
Mod-1: 400, +5. 277,466 XP to level 264. 1715 XP to go from 263 to 264.
Mod-Main: 500, +5. 303,766. 1800.
Mod-2: 500, +10. 476,031. 3130.
Mod-3: 600, +20. 846,861. 5860.
Mod-4: 700, +30. 1,217,691. 8590.
Mod-5: 800, +40. 1,588,521. 11320.
(You can find the different versions under “Optional” files)
Only possible drawback is that first few levels need more XP than vanilla.
You can request a different version if the above don’t fit you. I cannot promise, but I may take up such requests. Excel document has been made available.
[Installation]
Standard ESP installation, nuff said. It does not need a new save, it will automatically jump you to the new level and give you the extra Perk points, however this may feel a rough jump. It can be uninstalled, but taken perks will not disappear. Ideally, use it on a new game.
[Optional & Misc Files]
The different Main files are uploaded under optional.
Because you will level up faster, I figured you might want to start with less SPECIAL points, as to prolong the whole leveling thingy by a few more levels.
Vanilla has 28 SPECIAL points when you start, I’ve included options of 22, 18 and 14.
I’ve uploaded the Excel document I made to calculate the nice numbers shown above, as well as the graph. Now you can play around with it too!

XP Leveling Linearised-ish
[Technical]
Yeah, I know, both vanilla and modded are parabollic / 2nd degree polynomials, but the point is to make XP progress in a more straight/linear and balanced way, instead of the overused increasingly increasing progression cost. Thus the very technical term, linearised-ish.
