X-01 USMC Dress Blue Paint non-replacer

X-01 USMC Dress Blue Power Armor Paint
Made by request for SgtKUSMC
Paint your X-01 Power Armor in the colors of the USMC Dress Blue uniform.

Important Note:
If you downloaded this today and it’s not working, Version 0.2 was missing some files including the .esp
You can get the missing files in the 0.2 to 0.21 update on the files page.
The 0.21 version should now have this problem fixed, 0.2 has been removed from the page.
I’m still very new to modding but I wanted to try making a new power armor texture and made this based on SgtKUSMC’s request. However I hope other people might enjoy this retexture as well.

Change Log (Up to Version 0.21)

0.21 – I left out the .esp and the materials file from 0.2 when I uploaded it. v0.21 adds these back in. If you downloaded v0.2 I’ve also put up an update with the missing files. Sorry about that, I shouldn’t be working on these things at 4am.
0.2 – Fixes the back to front normal maps. In version 1 most of the textures were recessed into the armor rather than on top of it. This is fixed now. Also used the institute normal maps as a basis instead since the regular version is beaten out of shape which just doesn’t look right for an armour based on the dress uniform.
0.1 – The original version which has now been replaced.

Installation Instructions (Version 0.21)

Set up your Fallout 4 ready to use mods (there should be other guides covering this step elsewhere on the Nexus).
Download this mod with either NMM or manually, based on your preference.
Active with NMM or extract the .rar directly into your Fallout 4 data folder.
Place a suit of X-01 Power Armor in the Power Armor workbench and select ‘USMC Power Armor’ as the material.
Oorah!

Compatibility (Version 0.21)

This mod uses an .esp file to add this texture in to the game as a craftable paint at the Power Armor Workshop. It may not be compatible with other mods that alter your Power Armor, although so far I’ve had users reporting that they are able to use it alongside other standalone paint mods. Please let me know if you run into any compatibility issues and I’ll see if there’s anything I can do to patch this mod and put up a more specific note here.

To do list

Test the armor.
Fix a couple of problems with the normal map being backwards in places (textures going in instead of out), didn’t notice this until after I uploaded it of course. I’ll try to have a 0.2 out by tomorrow to fix this. I’ll make it as an update just replacing the messed up maps so that you don’t have to redownload the whole thing if you’ve already got it.
I still haven’t been able to get the eyes quite right, but I’ll keep working on it. If I keep having trouble with it, I might make an optional version with different eyes as well.
Create a video of this mod in action.

Special Thanks to

The United States Marine Corps. It’s an honor to work with a uniform that means so much to so many people. Semper Fidelis.
Expired6978 for their Standalone Power Armor Paint Compiler which allows this mod to function without replacing an existing paint texture.
Jamie1992 AKA Steelhawk for their Tutorial on how to use paint compiler.
And of course Bethesda, both for the game and because this mod uses their vanilla assets.
