Weapon Scrap Fix

*** UPDATE: It turns out that this mod is an inferior attempt to solve the same problem as More Weapon Scrap by ParasiteX – as a result, development of this mod is most likely permanently on hold. ***

Summary:
Weapon Scrap Fix v1

Fixes vanilla weapons that would otherwise scrap into nothing, to instead scrap into reasonable materials compared to other vanilla weapons.

Notes:
My workshop has been filling up with various unwanted weapons that I couldn’t scrap because doing so would cause them to simply disintegrate into thin air.

I finally had enough and decided to figure out how to fix this via FO4Edit. Turns out it was pretty simple, as the game maintains FormID lists of weapons and armor that should break down into each component type.

Items fixed so far:
– Baseball Bat (wood)
– Double-Barrel Shotgun (steel)
– Sledgehammer (wood*)

Post in the comments or open an issue report if you find any other weapons that need fixing!

* It appears that unmodified weapons can only break down into one material; I tried adding the Sledgehammer to both wood and steel lists, and it only broke down into steel. Bummer.

Compatibility:
This is likely to conflict with mods that add scrappable non-vanilla weapons. Unfortunately the way Bethesda implemented the scrapping lists means that there’s no clean way to merge this mod with those; my suggestion is to decide whether scrapping vanilla or non-vanilla weapons is more important in a given gameplay session, and adjust load order accordingly (last one wins).

Installation:
Install HZWeaponScrapFix.esp into the game’s Data folder and activate it via whatever method you are using for other mods.

NMM should be able to do this for you automatically.
