Unequip Pipboy
This mod let’s you unequip the Pipboy. Why would you want to do that? I don’t know. You tell me! XD You will see it in your inventory’s “apparel” category. Note that when you remove it you will no longer see the Pipboy-UI but it’s still functional. It’s just invisible.

I tried to make the Pipboy an item that you can equip and remove via hotkey, but while FO4 let’s you add apparel to the favourite menu it won’t let you wear or remove it.

The clothes your PC wears always conform to your Pipboy. When you remove it and you take off and then wear your clothes again they will be identical to what NPCs wear. To do so you will need to use a trick. When you close your inventory, AFAIK, your last selection is always saved. So in order to get your clothes to look like the NPCs’ you will need to:

1. Remove the Pipboy.
2. Remove apparel.
3. Wear apparel.

For steps 2. and 3. you will need to use your keyboard’s cursor keys or use your gamepad accordingly. Now comes the tricky part. Before you remove your Pipboy you need to select it and count how many times you need to press the buttons to select the clothing you want to remove/wear. Then select the Pipboy, remove it, go up or down to the item hitting the button as many times as you counted and remove/wear it.

You CAN re-equip the Pipboy via console when you need it again with:

player.equipitem 21b3b

player.unequipitem 21b3b works as well. But I thought it’s more practical to do that using the game’s UI.

Please know and remember that you can streamline the use of console commands with batch files. Put them in the “Fallout 4” folder, one level above the “Data” folder. Create a batch file named e.txt for example.

Write

player.equipitem 21b3b

into the file.

Use it in-game with

bat e

It will execute the given command.
