Summer Time

Summer Time

Did you felt it was autumn in the wasteland? Where is the rainy weather, that should occur even after 210 years of nuclear devastation? Day starts at 5:30 o’clock, ends at 20:00 o’clock. Where I life in the northern hemisphere, a usual day at october 23 lasts no longer then 10 hours. I felt like this display was a little bit inaccurate. Then I felt like the game has a much stronger inclination for summer time, and thus the Mod was born. The real reason? Well, I recently started streaming on Twitch, use a darker nights mod, and record myself with a camera, which needs light. Darker nights mod and bright light = bad combination. Also, I like the nights realistically dark, but prefer to travel the wastelands during daytimes in preparation for upcoming needs mod, that will import the need to sleep, which basically renders me sleeping at night.

What does this Mod do?

In detail? It changes the month, day and hour to 6:00 o’clock at 1.6.2287. Additionally it changes the sunrise to 4:30-7:00 am, and the sunset to 20:00-22:30 pm, pretty much equaling summer in my hemisphere. This basically results in a longer daytime, less nighttime, and the corrected date to summer time.

How is it installed?

1. Open the Fallout4Prefs.ini and under the section [Launcher] add “bEnableFileSelection=1”.
2. Copy the file from this download into your Fallout4/Data folder
3. Enable the file in your data section in the FO4 launcher, see here under the section news how’s it done…

You can use NMM as well. Which is recommended. See this video to understand how to enable Mods with NMM!

Any additional recommendations?

Yes, use a timescale 5 for higher immersion. You could even go full real time with timescale 1. And before you start arguing, no, setting the timescale lower then 6 does not mess up your game. This is completely dependend on your computer. Problem is, some mod users tend to act like sheeps in a herd and repeat everything others are babbling. Don’t believe the irritation, they’re wrong. Since changing timescale with .esp doesn’t work right now, use this console command to change timescale when starting a new game…

set timescale to 5

But, but, I know timescale lower then 6 messes up game!

Go away!

The date doesn’t change when installing on a running game!

Yes, it will change only after you saved the game once. Do so and reload, then the date change will get applied.

Can you make it compatible with X?

No, I’m not making patches for mods I’m not using. Feel free to figure yourself.

Is it stable?

Mods created without official tools have a risk to break your game. But at the moment this is true for pretty much all .espbased Mods on the Nexus for FO4. Once the CK gets released, this Mod will be remade. I would not recommend using any .esp Mods if you are a picky person that does not potentially want to get his game messed up. You’ve been warned, you decide. This Mod is made with TesVEdit, not Snip in case you ask.
