Simple Save Backup .bat
This .bat file will automatically back up your save files to a new folder periodically.
It’s nothing fancy or complicated, just run this while you play, and close it when you stop.
Handy in case of save corruption, or if you ever want to just revert to an older save for whatever reason.
It will only back up files that are new or different to ones it already backed up, so it won’t make endless copies of the same save.
However, because of the way save files are named, every new save will be backed up separately and will not overwrite another.
For example if you quicksave, back it up, then quicksave again, the next time it backs up the first quicksave will NOT be overwritten.
So to save disc space remember to delete old saves you know you won’t use.
If you want to change the time it takes between backups, edit the .bat file in Notepad and edit the number after the ‘timeout’ command. It uses
seconds, and is by default set to 600 (10 minutes).
Install
Simply extract it to My Documents\My Games\Fallout4\ (you should see a ‘Saves’ folder in the same place, see the picture for reference)
Uninstall
Just delete the .bat file (and the save backups, if you want)
