Plants and Food Consolidated
This is something I made and use. Thought I’d put it up because you never known when someone else might want it.
This mod basically takes a garden of 42 plants and condenses it down to 1. With all the disadvantages as well as the benefits. The purpose this serves is simply to reduce leg work. Less time spent planting and harvesting. 1 plant, done. It is incredibly fair and offers no real advantage except time saved and less clutter, however the reason I am categorizing this as a cheat is because it only takes 1 settler to maintain, where as it would normally take 4 if it were a full garden. No way around that. It’s only 1 plant.
There are 2 files – 1 that covers all vanilla plants, and 1 that covers only the plants used for Vegetable Starch (adhesive).
The main file does this:
– Replaces the Mutfruit bush completely. (lame, I know)
– Increases the cost to plant the Mutfruit bush to 6 of each plantable crop (carrots, corn, tatos, mutfruit, razorgrain, melons, gourds) – 42 total
– Increases the settlement food rating to 24 (which is the sum of 6 of each type of plant if they were planted 1 by 1 – 36×0.5 + 6×1)
– Increases harvest amount to 42 total – 6 of each crop (carrots, corn, tatos, mutfruit, razorgrain, melons, gourds). Zero randomness.
– Mutfruit is no longer restricted to dirt – Plant it anywhere but in water. Sadly, not pool tables (I checked).
The second file is identical to the first, except instead of using Carrots/Razorgrain/Melons/Gourds, it only uses Corn/Tatos/Mutfruit and at double the amounts of the main file to equal the same 24 food rating. I personally use this one because corn/tatos/mutfruit are the only plants I use. For adhesive. And snacks.
– Replaces the Mutfruit bush completely.
– Increases the cost to plant the Mutfruit bush to 12 each of Corn, Tatos, and Mutfruit (36 total)
– Increases the settlement food rating to 24 (which is the sum of 12 of each type of plant if they were planted 1 by 1 – 24×0.5 + 12×1)
– Increases harvest amount to 12 each of Corn, Tatos, and Mutfruit (36 total)
– Mutfruit is no longer restricted to dirt – Plant it anywhere but in water.
Side note, this has no effect on the Wild/Fresh Mutfruit plants or any other plants for that matter, but any normal Mutfruit plants (Graygarden comes to mind) will have the full harvest listed above. That’s because they use the same info. Basically any Mutfruit you find in a settlement will be a produce explosion, even if you didn’t plant it. HOWEVER, the benefit of this is that if you remove this mod, all the Mutfruit plants you put down (from this mod) will just turn into normal Mutfruit plants. Your exterior decorating won’t be jeopardized, unlike with planters. If you remove a planter mod, everything disappears. Which is why I prefer this for organizing settlement food production.
Technical stuff: Made with FO4Edit. Will conflict with any mod that makes changes to Mutfruit or the Mutfruit plant. My other mod on this site is shit, too, so don’t bother.
