Perk Options

W doeshat it:

Gives you an installer that let’s you choose to change many perks. Everything is separate, you can change just one thing if you like.

This needs to be a community effort, please suggest options for other perks. Using conditions and effects already present in at least one perk is easiest.

I plan to have options for most perks, as everyone’s play style is different.

Weapon type perks:

These changes will keep you from getting locked into using one type of weapon. I recommend installing all of these together.

Gunslinger: Now has 10 ranks at levels 10/20/30/40/50/60/70/80/90/100 and grants a damage bonus. Options are either all guns or all weapons, and 10, 15 and 20% per rank. This keeps your damage scaling with NPC health into late game.

Commando: Each rank grants 10% less weapon spread while hipfiring and 10% increased range on all weapons.

Rifleman(now Keen Eye): Each rank grants 8% armor penetration per rank on all weapons.

Iron Fist: Each rank gives 8% chance to disarm on melee and unarmed.

Changes for Heavy gunner and Big Leagues coming as soon as today.

Other:

Nerd Rage: Changes the health nerd rage triggers at. Current options are 30/40/50.

Strong Back: Adds carry weight bonus to all 4 ranks of Strong Back. Current options are 25/25/25/25, 40/40/40/40, 100/100/100/100, 25/50/75/100 and 40/80/120/160

Gun Fu: Second rank merged with first, since it’s not even better. Second rank triggers crits at 3 targets, third at 2.

Troubleshooting:

If you already have these perks, you will probably have to remove and re-add them.

The ID’s for Gunslinger ranks 6-10 are 2d030808, 2d030809, 2d03080a, 2d03080b, 2d03080c
The ID’s for Weapon Master ranks 6-10 are 2f030808, 2f030809, 2f03080a, 2f03080b, 2f03080c

My thoughts on options:

Damage perk options: In vanilla, the commando/rifleman/etc. perks lock you into using one type of weapon, as that type will outperform any other weapon with just a couple of perks. There is also no damage increases as mobs gain health after level 49.

Nerd Rage: I am playing on a custom dificulty where I take 400% damage. Nerd Rage never happens because my hp goes from over 20 to dead.

Strong Back: Carry weight is a cool aspect of the game in my opinion, however as the game progresses gear becomes heavier and the number of items carried is larger. It also becomes less and less fun going to merchants as the game goes on.
