Music of The True Tones
Music of The True Tones
What does this mod do?
This mod adds 6 new tracks to Diamond City Radio. There are alternate versions for different preferences to how the songs are added.
Made-up Lore Backstory:
The True Tones were a popular band from the East Central Commonwealth that performed in the 2060s and early 2070s. They were enjoying modest success until the war began escalating and resources for guitar strings and drum sets were diverted for mass Mr. Gutsy production. The Great War ended everything for everyone, but some recordings of the True Tones have managed to survive over 200 years later.
The Real Backstory:
The True Tones were a Doo Wop band like no other that toured in East Tennessee Area in the 1960s. My Dad, Jay, was their lead vocalist and regards his time in the band as the most fun time of his life and the source of some of his fondest memories. I had been telling him since before Fallout 4’s launch that I wanted to add their music to the game because it just fits so well with the theme. Dad has fallen extremely ill lately, so I made this mod as a tribute to him and I’m hoping that when he wakes up, he’ll get a kick out of seeing his music being enjoyed by a new generation of listeners.
If you want to learn more about the True Tones and listen to their songs outside of the game, please visit the True Tones website that my dad runs. My Dad’s in very serious condition, so while you enjoy the sound of his singing voice, please send him a positive thought or prayer for good health.
Versions:
Main File – Adds 6 True Tones tracks to Diamond City Radio. Not compatible with other mods that modify the records for Diamond City Radio.
MWTCF Add on – Add 6 True Tones tracks to More Where That Came From. The songs are in the Diamond City Radio list with the rest of the songs added by MWTCF. Enjoy!
Compatibility:
The main file is NOT COMPATIBLE WITH OTHER MODS THAT CHANGE DIAMOND CITY RADIO’S RECORDS IN FO4Edit.
For MWTCF compatibility, click the Download Manually link and use the optional file for MWTCF instead of the main mod.
All versions should be compatible with mods that REPLACE tracks, as long as records aren’t being edited. (no .esp file in mod)
Ambitious Future Plans:
Magnolia version – Version with tracks spliced onto Magnolia’s songs so the music of the True Tones will play instead of her songs.
True Tones Radio – probably not possible until GECK.
Jukebox – Haven’t figured out how to make it work correctly.
Holotapes – Would be nifty!
If you have any suggestions on how to do any of the above, please let me know. This is my first mod and I’m a newb!
