More Oomph for Energy Weapons – A Sound Replacer
DESCRIPTION:
This is a sound replacer for energy weapons and a learning experience for me. My main goal is to make punchy, gritty, sci-fi sounds for Fallout 4’s energy weapons and make them feel like they could really do some damage. In other words, to add more oomph.
(new sounds start at 0:35)
STUFF DONE:
– Semi-auto plasma weapons (short barrel)
– Plasma sniper
– Plasma thrower
– Semi-auto laser pistols (all semi-auto barrels)
– Semi-auto laser rifles (all semi-auto barrels)
– Gatling laser (overcharged barrels)
– Gauss rifle
– Gauss rifle (suppressed)
STUFF TO DO (Coming Soon™):
– FOMOD installer
– Automatic laser pistols and laser rifles
– Gatling laser (standard barrels)
– Automatic plasma weapons, except for the plasma thrower
– Plasma scatterer
– Laser musket
– Gamma gun
– Alien blaster (to be honest, I have no idea on what to do with this one)
INSTALLATION:
1. Enable mod support if you haven’t already by following this guide:
2. Download and extract the Sounds folder to your \Fallout 4\Data folder or use the Nexus Mod Manager (recommended)
KNOWN ISSUES:
– There may be a small delay when firing a weapon for the first time due to how the game works. This can also happen with stock sounds.
– Laser weapons sound comparably low. The game itself handles volumes for some weapons differently.
NOTES:
– Some energy weapons and their barrels share the same sound file paths in the game.
CHANGELOG:
v0.5 – Initial release
