Mods and Save Games Backup Script
Version 1.3 Full Release
This backup script backs up mods and save games for Fallout 4.
It creates high compression, split volume archives that are defragmentation and upload friendly.
Backed up 7-zip archives (*.001, *.002 etc) are able to be opened by programs like Peazip (http://peazip.sourceforge.net) or 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org).
If your PC is 32-bit only this script will detect this and use the appropriate executable.
This backup script will take a long time to complete depending on compression level and how many large textures you have installed.
Requirements:
config.bat’s settings are correctly edited
the destination folder has enough free space available
no other demanding software is currently running
Usage:
1) edit config.bat – 4 numbered settings
2) run backup_fallout_mods.bat
What it Backs up:
1) The Save Games Folder
2) Selectively the game’s “Data” Folder
2a) *.txt, *.ini, *.css, *.htm, *.html, *.esp, *.esm
2b) The folders “Backup”, “Meshes”, “Music”, “Sound”, “Textures”
Please note: If you have BSA files that are not listed above you’ll need to append them to the list in the file “backup_fallout_mods.bat”. Also this script does not backup files in the root game directory.
