Minutemen Militia Hat Tricorn Replacer

Are you a Minuteman? Were you somewhat disappointed by the Militia Hat being an ugly crumpled cowboy hat? Do you want your citizen army to have more colonial style?

This mod replaces the Minutemen’s Militia Hat with Hancock’s Tricorn.

There are two .esp files for this mod:

MinutemanTricorn – Replacer Only.esp is a simple model swap, nothing more. It replaces the vanilla Militia Hat’s model and texture with those of the Tricorn and leaves the stats otherwise unchanged.

MinutemanTricorn – Modifiable.esp also adds the functionality to add a lining mod and ballistic weave to the Militia Hat. It is designed to have full compatibility with Armor Modifications Expanded by LordGrievous, an EXCELLENT mod that I HIGHLY recommend. It CAN be used standalone as well, but I recommend using Armor Modifications Expanded anyways, unless you hate well-balanced mods that improve your game experience.

INSTALLATION:

I recommend using NMM, but I mean, I guess you don’t HAVE to if you don’t want to.

When adding either file to your load order, select ONLY ONE and place it AFTER any mods that modify the Militia Hat. In the specific case of Armor Modifications Expanded use MinutemanTricorn – Modifiable.esp and place it directly after Armor_Mods_Expanded_v1b2.esp.

FAQ:

Q: YOUR MOD GAVE MY COMPUTER SUPER CANCER!
A: I sincerely doubt it, it changes very little. But as with all mods, you use this file at your own risk.

Q: Can you change the texture on the Minuteman tricorn to X, Y, or Z?
A: It’s not within the scope of this mod. If you want a texture replace for this mod, go find a texture replacer for Hancock’s Tricorn. It uses the exact same assets.

Q: Your mod doesn’t work!
A: Check your load order and that a mod that changes the Militia Hat is not loaded after my .esp. If you are unsure, move whichever version of this you prefer to the very bottom of your load order and test again.

Q: Is your mod compatible with Armorsmith Extended or ?
A: I’m personally not a fan of Armorsmith Extended due to how many things it’s trying to do at once. If you like it, understand that I am not keeping up with it and am not going to provide a dedicated .esp that will keep the functionality of it (or any other crafting mod) available as it evolves. Armor Modifications Expanded is a simple mod which adds specific options, which I was able to provide for this mod easily. However, aside from possibly not having all the same options available in Armorsmith or whatever other crafting mod you use, there is nothing I can THINK of that would prevent you from using my mod with whatever mod you prefer, as long as my mod is loaded after it, or it does not modify the Militia Hat.
