Minuteman Combat Armor – Standalone

A simple modification that adds a standalone Minuteman paintjob to your game, as well as an optional blue rextexture of the Minuteman jacket to match.

-INSTALLATION-
Open the ZIP archive with your choice of software

Extract the file “Minuteman_CB.esp” and the folders “Textures” and “Materials” to your Fallout 4 Data directory (default is C:\*wherever steam is installed*\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data)

Then locate your Fallout 4 .ini (default if C:\Users\*your username*\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Fallout4.ini) and find the following line:

sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\

Add these after STRINGS\

MATERIALS\, TEXTURES\

After that, you can enable the mod using your preferred mod manager or alternatively add it manually to the plugins file (default is C:\Users\*your username*\AppData\Local\Fallout4\plugins)

If you want to use the optional jacket replacer, simply take the “Textures” folder from inside the -=OPTIONAL=- folder and move it to the Data directory, same as before.

-NOTES-
You will not be able to use the modification right away. You must complete the mission “Taking Independence” first to unlock the paint job.
Unfortunately, there is no prefix for modified combat armor (it will not show up as “Minuteman Combat Armor” in your inventory). This is due to a limitation with FO4Edit that keeps users from adding in new keywords. Hopefully this can be rectified in a later version of FO4Edit or when official mod tools get released.
Also, please note that the modification is basically a reskinned copy of the Brotherhood paintjob, so it will also increase energy and radiation resistance slightly, so it isn’t just cosmetic.

-FAQ-
Q: Will this overwrite the default combat armor?
A: Nope! This is entirely standalone.

Q: Does this work on all variants of the combat armor (normal, sturdy, and heavy)?
A: Yes it does. Some example pictures are included.

Q: I tried crafting it, but it won’t show up in the menu. Where is it?
A: You have to complete the mission “Taking Independence” to be considered a full member of the Minutemen and get access to the paint job. If it is still not showing up after that, trying reinstalling the mod. If the issue persists, contact me and I will see what I can do.

Q: I want to use this mod in my own compilation.
A: As long as credit is given, I don’t care what you do with it.

-KNOWN BUGS-
Armor doesn’t properly display “Minuteman” prefix due to current limitations
Armor may cause a crash when crafting. Check to make sure there is no conflict with any other mods using FO4Edit. -Currently Testing A Fix-
