Laser Musket Redux

This mod adds extra possible attachments, copying from the standard Laser Gun and largely mirroring the benefits. These additional high-tier modifications should make the Laser Musket a bit more competitive and useful in the higher levels.

Aside from the Short and Long, I added a Sniper Barrel that increases damage drastically (By 75%), including recoil and reload time by (35%) etc. As well as Improved variants. The Sniper Barrel of the standard Laser Gun has it’s recoil increased by 35% so it would be consistent. The bonuses are largely similar, but the Laser Muskets’ mods are a bit different to suit it’s style.

The Crank Capacitors are modified as well, adding 5% of reload speed each, up to +20% reload speed with the six-crank capacitor.

Additionally, the higher muzzle attachments are added, the Amplified Beam Splitter, Fine-Tuned Beam Focuser, and the Quantum Gryo Compensating Lens.

The Beam Splitter has 5 projectiles with the regular +10% damage which is the same as Vanilla Beam Splitters, while the Amplified Beam Splitter has 9 Projectiles, and adds 30% damage instead.

And as a bonus, the “Automatic” are now moddable and even craftable, but as a downside, it’s no longer a “Legendary”, and quite possibly a bug that it will show up as a Legendary attachment still from legendary NPCs. And it costs ridiculously high to make; Lv4 Science! Perk, Lv4 Gun Nut Perk, 17 Adhesive, 30 Aluminium, 24 Gear, 20 Oil, and 24 Screw, this means you can only manually create it later in your game, as well as its required items are ridiculously hard to come by. Because of this, you can have an additional Legendary attachment, but it also does not show up in the description, hopefully you are not too bothered by it.

“Secretly”, the Short Barrel adds 20% fire rate for the automatic version, while the Sniper barrel removes 20% of firerate. Looking at FO4Edit, it has this “IsPlayerOnly” boolean function, which i can only assume that only the Player can use it. I removed that, so it’s possible that NPCs will use the Automatic Laser Musket now. I don’t know, it hasn’t happened to me, but i’m pretty sure that it does.

RECAP:
– Additional Barrel attachments for the Laser Musket, added “Sniper” Barrel and “Improved” high-tier attachments. With their bonuses similar to the standard Laser Weapons.
– The added “Sniper” barrel for the Laser Musket decreases reload speed instead of capacity.
– The “Sniper” barrel in both the Laser Musket and the Rifle/Pistol increases Recoil by 35%.
– Added the additional Muzzle Attachments for the Laser Musket, the Amplified Beam-Splitter, Fine-Tuned Beam-Focuser and the Quantum Gyro Compensating Lense.
– The Beam Splitter has 5 projectiles with the standard +10% damage, while the Amplified Beam Splitter has 9 projectiles, and gives +22.5% increased damage.
– Crank Capacitors adds +5% reload speed per additional level, at +20% max reload speed with the Six-Crank Capacitor.
– “Automatic” Legendary Mod is now eligible for modding, and you can craft your own Automatic Receiver. But has a very very high requirement to make.
– The “Short” Barrel series will add 20% fire speed for the “Automatic” Legendary Mod, whilst the “Sniper” Barrel Series decreases fire speed by 20% instead.
– Based from it’s data by the FO4 Edit, it’s not usable by the NPC, so i made it usable.

Known Bugs:
– Preston Garvey’s Default weapon would be kind of broken. I don’t know why, or how to fix it. A band-aid solution is giving him anything other than his default Laser Musket.

Shortcomings:
– Unfortunately, due to difficult circumstances, i could not provide a proper Charging Barrel model for the Sniper Barrel Series. It only borrows the Laser Gun Sniper Barrel, but there is no extension with it. As well as the barrel itself has obstructive iron sights — there is none but the rear-sight, not the front-sight. Because of this, the sight attachments are off center.
– I still don’t know how to properly list the items, so it can be pretty jarring as you pick your own barrels and muzzles.
– My plan was with the “Automatic” Receiver to be permanently locked out, yet the rest are moddable. However i could not make it work, and as a workaround instead, i have made the Automatic Receiver craftable instead.
– Because of the Automatic Reciever, filling in the Reciever Slot than the Legendary Slot, you can still have legendary Mods with it, so you can have something like Mighty Automatic upgrade. Multiple Descriptions do not stack.

Compatibility Notes:

To the modders that intend to modify my mod, first off F-Off! It’s not that hard, but it’s frustrating and tedious work.

But it’s not like i can stop you, so i might as well tell you how to properly do so, so you won’t F this up.

The attachments are now “Sourced” on the weapon, than the receiver. this means that Preston’s Laser Musket and Generic Laser Musket is modified, and has to modify if it were to be made compatible with other mods that include modification in the base weapons themselves.
