Keep your old character for a new playthrough
This is a step-by-step tutorial on how to begin Fallout 4 from the beginning while keeping your old character’s appearance, SPECIAL stats, perks and inventory. It relies mostly on console commands and a couple mods. This way you can start all over again without loosing the progress you have made on your favorite character. Unfortunately if you have any legendary items this method will remove the legendary abilities and you will only have the base item. This is not a quick process and involves a fair bit of work.
Be prepared to spend up to an hour figuring this all out. After doing it several times, it still takes me a good half hour to recreate my character. Writing this all out from memory might result in a lapse in proper instruction, if you run into any problems please contact me and I will help you work it out and update this tutorial.
I don’t consider this a cheat because though you do “cheat” to accomplish the objective, the end result maintains balance since enemies do scale to your level. I consider it a fair way to continue enjoying your favorite character after you have run out of things to do.
