Intimidating

Purpose

I found the original intimidation perk rather silly where you could ‘intimidate’ an opponent who was attacking you. I can’t really imagine too many scenarios where a person who is already in the middle of shooting bullets at you would give a crap if you said “put the gun down or I’ll shoot” they’d probably just keep shooting. I also disagreed with how far away you could be from someone when intimidating, not to mention your character doesn’t yell.

It’s worked fine for me so far but if I run into any problems I’ll sort it out, if you run into problems let me know.

I did this for my own play-through, just thought I’d share.

What does it change?

– Changes the conditions of the perk to prevent the player from intimidating a target who is already fighting, or already fighting the player. Sidenote: npcs who have detected the player can still be intimidated, just as long as they’re not already hostile and attempting to kill you.

– Enemies who are ‘searching’ or unaware of the player can still be intimidated; this still makes sense as even if they’re looking for you, if you creep up behind them pointing a gun at them they should feel pretty intimidated.

– Reduces the maximum range of the intimidate ability by well over half, as intimidating an opponent who would only hear you if you yelled didn’t make a lot of sense (as all their friends would too).

– I also made the duration of the pacification 5minutes instead of 60 seconds.

Bugs
None that I’m aware of.

Though I should mention that I have run into a bug in vanilla when trying to get a pacified npc to follow you on rank 3, they don’t seem too keen on it most of the time. Tried to fix this in this mod actually but couldn’t find the issue. So if you run into this bug, it’s not this mod causing it.

Installation
Simply drop the TrueIntimidation.esp into the Data folder and enable the mod through a mod manager, or go add the file name to the plugins.txt in the appdata Fallout 4 folder

The opposite of the installation.
