Higher Voice For Curie (Japanese)

Higher Voice For Curie (日本語化)

Here is the Japanese version of Higher Voice For Curie. She’s my favorite companion out of every Bethesda RPG, including New Vegas.

English version is here.
Higher Female Protagonist Voice (Japanese) is here.
Higher Voice For Piper (Japanese) is here.

The demonstration video contains spoilers for anyone who hasn’t traveled with Curie for a while!

Voice Types:

Note: On the whole, the pitch of the voice isn’t much changed in any of these voice types, but what does change appreciably is the apparent age of the voice. Each step higher primarily means a somewhat younger-sounding voice.

Also note: I have provided three sets of files. (Spoiler alert.)

Spoiler Show

Voice Type A1: 3% higher.

Voice Type A2: 6% higher.

Voice Type A3: 9% higher.

Voice Type A4: 12.2% higher.

Voice Type A5: 15.6% higher.

Voice Type A6: 18.9% higher. It’s beginning to sound a little artificial at this point.

Voice Type U2: 50% higher pitch, 9% higher formants, high distortion. Use at your own discretion!

Voice Type U4: 78.2% higher pitch, 18.9% higher formants, high distortion. Use at your own discretion!

Installation (as of 2015-12-24):

1. Follow the Fallout 4 Mod Installation guide to learn the latest method for setting up custom mods.

2. Add the name of the esp file of your chosen voice type (for example: “Higher Female Protagonist Voice (Japanese) – Type A4.esp”) to the plugins.txt file, which is typically located in C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Fallout4.

3. Extract the contents of the archive to your Fallout4\Data\ directory.

Uninstall:

1. Remove the archive’s extracted contents from your Fallout4\Data\ directory.

2. Remove the name of the esp file from your plugins.txt file.

Other:

Although I can follow the Japanese language reasonably well, I am not so good at composing text, so I did not bother. I don’t expect this to be much of a barrier.

I hope this mod is of use to others.

Q: Why is the filename for Type A6 called “Type A6b”?
A: Because the first upload of Type A6 somehow didn’t get attached to this mod entry, but it’s on the Nexus servers anyway, so I can’t re-upload the same filename, nor can I delete the existing file since it has no entry.
