Higher Male Protagonist Voice
Higher Male Protagonist Voice
Higher, you ask? Yes, one or two people actually requested this. I had some time so I put it together. Here it is. If you were looking for a deeper male protagonist voice, that’s here.
Video updated with the newer voices. Try to ignore the middle-aged look of the actor.
Voice Types:
Note: On the whole, the pitch of the voice isn’t much changed in any of these voice types, but what does change appreciably is the apparent age of the voice. Each step higher primarily means a somewhat younger-sounding voice.
Voice Type A1: 3% higher.
Voice Type A2: 6% higher.
Voice Type A3: 9% higher. A young man.
Voice Type A4: 12.2% higher. A young man.
Voice Type A5: 15.6% higher. A teenager.
Voice Type A6: 18.9% higher. A teenager.
Coming soon?:
Voice Type A7: 22.5% higher. So far so good. I’ll keep going until it doesn’t sound usable anymore.
Installation (as of 2015-11-27):
1. Make sure your Fallout.ini (typically located in C:\Users\(your username)\My Documents\My Games\Fallout4) has had “, Sound\” added to its “sResourceDataDirsFinal=” line, like so:
sResourceDataDirsFinal=STRINGS\, Sound\
(Eventually, this manual modification should cease being necessary.)
2. Extract the contents of the archive to your Fallout4\Data\ directory.
Uninstallation:
1. Remove the archive’s extracted contents from your Fallout4\Data\ directory.
Other:
Basically no testing has been undertaken. But as with the other voice mods, I don’t anticipate any performance, stability or compatibility issues. (That said, a tiny handful of people have been experiencing semi-repeatable crashing issues, and for now I am supposing that it is an issue with Fallout 4’s current capacity to handle files external to its native data packs.)
