Foggy Rooms Defogged

What’s it for?
Foggy Rooms Defogged pushes back all the area fog to make cells look less weirdly misty. In Fallout 4, most rooms are covered in thick fog, probably meant to make them look bigger and dustier. In practise, it just makes them look covered in fog. Especially when the fog shifts back and forward when you run! So, this pushes their end point to 4x the distance it was originally, keeping the effect of dusty air while letting you see more than a few metres ahead.

I made this mod because other mods currently available completely remove the fog, which isn’t an ideal solution – after all, these 200 year old rooms should look dusty! But they shouldn’t look fogged over, either. This strikes a balance between the two. Note that this mod doesn’t affect particle-based fog/dust/smoke effects.

How does it work? How do I install it?
This mod is a standard plugin. You install it the same way you install any other plugin – in other words, by using a plugin manager or the Fallout 4 launcher. There’s a handy video on the subject here.

This mod was made with FO4Edit and Mator’s Automation Tools.

Is this compatible with other mods?
It definitely isn’t compatible with anything else that changes fog. It might not work with some lighting mods that also edit Lighting Templates. As it alters Cell records, it might muddle everything if you use a non-English version of Fallout 4. Also, as it alters Cell records, it will probably be incompatible with major game patches in the future.

Are there any bugs?
I haven’t tested this extensively. Being made through a partly automated process, I can’t guarantee it won’t mess some things up! Please test and report and issues you find.
