Fallon’s Clean 4k-2k Suits
After recently beginning another new character, this time playing as a somewhat noir-ish detective, much like our good pal Nick, I then decided that my detective was probably the kind of fella who wouldn’t be seen dead in any of those grimy suits you find lying around the wasteland. A suit covered in mud and blood and other dubious substances? I don’t think so.
So I started working on cleaning them up a little and giving them a bit more detail, without changing them too much from the style of the originals. Now I don’t claim to be the best at texturing, i’m definitely still learning in that regard and i’m sure someone will come up with something better in time but I think these turned out pretty nice anyway.
I’ve redone all five of the original ‘clean’ suits Black, Grey, Tan, Blue and Striped in both 4k and 2k versions. Some of them may look a little brighter or darker to you, I took the screenshots at varying hours in the day although the blue in particular still looks a little darker than I would’ve liked.
Some of the screenshots were taken using a reshade but the majority are in vanilla lighting, you should be able to tell the difference pretty easily.
Also as a sidenote, the 4k textures came out ridiculously huge, like probably unnecessarily so. I think it’s due to the way I compressed them but again, still a beginner here. If anyone can give me a few pointers as to how to reduce the file size and still retain the quality i’d really appreciate it.
I also have another similar mod planned and almost finished that I hope to release fairly soon following in the same vein as this one. I figured my two detective buddies are gonna need something more than a few suits for roaming the Commonwealth in at some point so i’ve put together a handful of new standalone and suitably detective inspired outfits that I hope you’ll all like. So keep an eye out for that if you’re fond of stylish detectives or y’know, just nice suits and trench coats I guess.
Install
Install with either your mod manager of choice or manually by dropping the textures into your Fallout data folder.
