Craftable Guns and Weapons

Nexus Mod Manager Compatible!

Version 1.5 – Major balance and bugfixes!

So ever thought it was kinda shitty how you could modify all these weapons, but not create them from scratch? So did I. Now you can craft all the basic guns yourself a la Skyrim, so long as you have the appropriate materials and perks of course! No more hunting around for that elusive Gauss Rifle, make it yourself!

This mod adds the vast majority of ranged weapons available for crafting at the Chemistry Station, under the Utility Category. Several weapons are gated behind the Science!, Demolition Expert, and Nuclear Physicist Perks (Gun Nut, unfortunately, was bugged).

Also note that some weapons will not have an image to display while crafting. This is just a visual glitch and shouldn’t affect anything.

Unfortunately I can’t seem to get the game to give you just the basic version of a gun, so you’ll get it with a random assortment of weapon mods. I hope this explains the high weapon prices.

Finally, note that Laser Pistols/Rifles/Snipers (along with Plasma Pistols/Rifles/Snipers, Institute Pistols/Rifles/Snipers and Pipe Pistols/Rifles/Snipers) all share the same refID. Because weapon mods in game determine whether or not they are classified as a Pistol, a Rifle, or a Sniper, the game will randomly decide for you since it randomly decides what mods are attached anyways.

For ammo, check out Xylozi’s Craftable Ammo mod.

To Install Mods for Fallout 4

Use a Mod Manager:

While nothing compares to Mod Organizer, Nexus Mod Manager does well in a pinch.

To Install Manually:
1. Edit your Fallout4Prefs.ini
The Fallout4Prefs.ini is in “Documents/My Games/Fallout 4”.
Open it and under the section [Launcher] add “bEnableFileSelection=1”.
Right click Fallout4Prefs.ini, select Properties, and tick the Read Only box. Fallout 4 likes to refresh and reset this file all the time, including whenever you enter the options menu. Selecting read only will prevent any changes to this file. Note that this will prevent you from changing your graphics options unless you deselect the read only box, at which point you will have to re-enter “bEnableFileSelection=1”

2. Edit your plugins.txt

The plugins.txt is in “Users\[YourUser]\AppData\Local\Fallout4”.
Add “CarryWeight500.esp” (or whichever .esp you actually used) under “Fallout4.esm”. If you used both the default carry weight mod and the bonus carry weight mod, simply add both “CarryWeight(whatever you chose here).esp” and “CarryWeight(whatever you chose here)Strength.esp” under Fallout4.esm

3. Put the esp(s) of your choice inside the SteamApps\common\Fallout 4\Data folder

4. Enjoy!
