Classic lore – T-51 to T-60 Armour Swap

======NOTE: I forgot to put the bloody meshes that swapped the appearance of the armours in question in the first place…whoops. If you’ve downloaded the first file, please download version 2 – that is the fixed file!======

I really like the design of the T-51 armour, but for ‘the pinnacle of pre war power armour’ it’s pretty flimsy. Not only is the T-51 meant to be second to none aside from the Advanced Power Armour (aka X-01), it also never seems to last that long, so I swapped it around with the T-60 armour, and renamed the T-60 as the T-48 since it really just looked like an updated rehash of the T-45. Akin to an up-armoured Humvee vs an ordinary one.

It swaps the meshes as well as the names, and the menu icons are also changed to reflect the swap. One downside is that the piezonucleic chest piece is now takes on the appearence of a T-48 torso piece, but then again it only boosts AP regen when being irradiated, so not much was lost to begin with, heh. I haven’t tested it yet, but apparently the Brotherhood all wear T-60s so this should be doubly nice since they should now end up wearing T-51 power armours, which I reckon is a pretty nice throwback to the Brotherhood seen in Fallouts 1 and 2. This also changes a loading screen that mentions the T-60 armour (it simply replaces the text with T-48).

This will conflict with other mods that touch the power armours as well as their armour mods, as those are named to reflect which armour they belong to (e.g. T-48 Headlamp Red Tactical). You’re completely free to make compatibility patches with this mod though. I haven’t tried the swapped armours out with every paint option there was so if there’s any issues you’re completely free to fix them as that kind of stuff is beyond my skills.

ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION that when you first load this mod, the names of existing power armour parts may not update – you have to pick them up then drop them, then pick them up again for the names to change.
