I don’t really like using V.A.T.S in Fallout and always prefered Bullet Time Mods (Fallout 3 & NV). I decided to re-create a early-mod for Fallout 4. Right now, there is not much tools for scripting (Activate/Deactivate commands), so I modded the JET behavior as it’s the item which is the closer to the result I wanted.

I tweaked many aspects of the object. For example: JET now weight is 0 and there is no more addiction (!), I also renamed it “Bullet Time” and removed annoying sounds (aspiration, player screaming “OH YEAH!”), but kept visual effects. See Changelog for full description of changes.

Now add +5 Radiation Damage to avoid Bullet Time spam (Alternative version with no radiation available)
Now Drain A.P During Bullet Time!
Now with Toggle Effect (Enbale/disable on same key) on 0.7a version

The new version 0.7a is a test version that includes “Toggle Effect” Mode!

Minimum A.P to activate Bullet Time set to 50 (~half of AP bar)
Toggle Effect (Activate/deactive) with same button
Slow motion maximum effect time: 7sec
Bullet time deactivation require minimum 50 A.P to be still available (cannot deactivate on very low AP)
A.P Drain on Bullet Time activation
Even more A.P Drain on Bullet Time deactivation
No radiation (A.P drain is already severe)
Bullet Time Stop when A.P reach 0

Basic gameplay scenarios examples:

If you activate Bullet Time & leave the 7sec effect, it will drain your A.P bar to ~half (~50 AP Cost)
If you activate Bullet Time & Deactive it (toggle), it will drain your whole A.P bar
You’ll have to wait for minimum 50 A.P in order to activate it again

Why so much AP Drain?

Without advanced/custom scripts, F4SE or even GECK I cannot go any further. The solution I propose on 0.7a is the most advanced and possible thing we can do with *.esp method only. I would like to tweak many aspects (minmum AP, AP drain etc…), but it’s most likely impossible. The whole effect script lie on a fragile equilibrium between AP drain, Slow Time duration, AP restore rate, etc…

If you don’t want so much AP Drain, please use the 0.6.1 version (no toggle effect).
