Adhesive Recipes
Adhesive Recipes
Adhesive. The most important ressource of all time, besides duct tape, probably, this could be true. But would you trust in glueing metal together for your gun? Whatever, this is not to start a debate about realism in games, and how you’re supposed to wield metal, glue wood, and use duct tape for provisionally measures only. This is about neglecting the lack of one of the most important ressources in game, in a lore friendly way, by adding recipes to make glue from bones (for now). I got the idea because I am working in a museum and often glue things together using animal glue. To make glue, you basically want to free your bones of fat, cook it inside water, and then use the viscous fluit like a adhesive. In order to use probarly you must heat it, except of fish glue, which is workable out of the box. To get more information on animal glue, head over here. Why Molerat Teeth? Teeth are no bones. That’s true, but read the wiki on teeth from rats and other rodents, they are in fact bones, not enamel.
So much for smartassing. What does this Mod do?
It will add 2 new recipes at the cooking station to turn any form of bone material to animal glue(adhesive). You do need water as additional component. You can not simply collect water from drains or lakes with empty bottles right now. Once the CK gets released, all of this will be enirely possible.
How is it installed?
1. Open the Fallout4Prefs.ini and under the section [Launcher] add “bEnableFileSelection=1”.
2. Copy the file from this download into your Fallout4/Data folder
3. Enable the file in your data section in the FO4 launcher, see here under the section news how its done
Will this be improved?
Yes, probably, depends on whether you give more ideas on which other things could be turned into adhesives. For now I will stay with bone material. Producing Mods in TesVEdit is quite tedious, so I only have the energy to work ~ 1 hour a day on the plugins. Just stay tuned. Since it’s a recipe Mod only,
you can replace old versions without hassle.
Is it stable?
Mods created without official tools have a risk to break your game. But at the moment this is true for pretty much all .esp based Mods on the Nexus for FO4. Once the CK gets released, this Mod will be remade. I would not recommend using any .esp Mods if you are a picky person that does not potentially want to get his game messed up. You’ve been warned, you decide.
