Combat Helmet Illumination

Illuminate What Really Matters….

Full support for the latest version of Craftable Custom Combat Armor has been added to the optional files. This file does not require the main Combat Helmet Illumination File. It must be installed after CCCA. Overwrite files when prompted. Ensure the Combat Helmet Illumination -CCCA.Esp is after CCCA in your load order.

This mod adds a fully functioning, mining headlamp to the Combat Armor helmet….. Perfect for seeing things!

Lights can be installed the same way as the mining helmet via the Armor Workbench (all color options available). The light will not turn on until you have visited a workbench and installed a headlamp.

Companions will use the lights the same way that they use the mining helmet light, ie. annoyingly.

This mod is compatible with mods that retexture the combat helmet.

Ok.. a bug was reported and confirmed…
So far from what I have been able to learn from my own testing and testimony from others that had it is the following:

If you save your game in first person with the combat helmet headlamp on. Quit the game completely and then reload that game from startup. When you switch to 3rd person your character will have massive polygon lines coming out of the headlamp. At this point I cannot determine the cause of this however… It is very easy to fix. If you turn off your light, save your game, exit game completely and reload from the helmet light off save you just made, it fixes it. In addition once you have loaded into the game safely without the bug. The original save with the headlamp on in 1st person causes no bugs when you load it. Making any assumptions about wtf is causing it is pretty premature at this point but if id have to guess some sort of variable is being set incorrectly for the first time when you load in with your headlamp on in first person. It persists until you cause it to be re-written. Re-Installing a new headlamp via workbench also fixes it.

So to recap:

1. Do not save with the light on in first person…
2. If you do…. toggle light off… save… exit game completely(to desktop like)….restart game and reload the save you just made…. problem is gone.
OR
3.Re-Install your headlamp in the helmet(not very freaking convenient). Just follow #2.

Isolating and solving this bug could turn out to be a very… extensive process, at this point im not sure of cause. But IMO its not terribly bad. Due to the fact that it is very easy to resolve and/or prevent.

Incompatible with any mod that adds standalone versions of the combat helmet I am currently working on compatibility patches (this will be mod specific). In short if you built your helmet at a crafting table its probably not going to work. Because it has different entries from vanilla in an .Esp and most likely uses different meshes.

Armorsmith Extended’s Compatibility patch – Gambit77 the mods author is currently looking into this.

Notes: The color of the headlamp casing is determined by your Power Armor Palette.
